Terms of Service

These terms explain the trial, subscription, ownership of kitchen records and responsibilities when using Safeguard Kitchen, operated by CAMPBUDDY LTD.

Last updated 31 October 2026

These terms apply between CAMPBUDDY LTD and the business that creates an account ("you"). By signing up you confirm you can agree on behalf of that business.

Safeguard Kitchen is operated by CAMPBUDDY LTD, company number 17178588. Registered office: Office 18630, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London, United Kingdom, E6 2JA. CAMPBUDDY LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales. Safeguard Kitchen is its service brand, not a separate legal company.

The service

Safeguard Kitchen provides digital tools for recording food safety checks. It supports your food safety management system but does not replace it, and it does not guarantee any hygiene rating or inspection outcome. You remain responsible for food safety in your business.

Free trial and subscription

A new kitchen receives a 14-day free trial without a card; the Pro Kitchen Plan is £29 per month per venue afterwards.

  • New businesses get a 14-day free trial. No card is needed, and you are never charged automatically when the trial ends.
  • When the trial ends without a subscription, your records stay viewable and exportable but new entries are paused until you subscribe.
  • The Pro Kitchen Plan costs £29 per month per venue unless agreed otherwise, charged monthly in advance by card through our payment provider, Stripe.
  • Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. We will tell you in advance about any price change, and you may cancel before it applies.
  • You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Access continues to the end of the paid month and no further payments are taken.
  • Because the service is supplied to businesses and can be cancelled monthly, fees already paid are not refunded for part-used months, except where the law requires or we have made a billing error.
  • If a payment fails we may pause new entries until it is resolved; your existing records are not deleted.
  • Invoices and receipts are available from the Billing page.

Your data

Your business owns the records it logs. We process them only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Appropriate business data-processing terms must also be agreed. You can download all your records at any time. Original compliance records cannot be edited or deleted through normal kitchen workflows. Signed amendments preserve the original evidence. Lawful data requests, retention and account closure are handled separately.

Accounts and staff

Keep passwords and join codes private. You are responsible for who you invite and for the accuracy of records they enter.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt to access other businesses' data, or enter false records.

FSA ratings

Hygiene ratings come from the public Food Standards Agency register. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the FSA.

Liability

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid in that period. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will tell you about significant changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

For questions about these terms, write to CAMPBUDDY LTD at its registered office above.
